The first step towards a beautiful, healthy smile is to schedule an appointment. Please contact our office by phone or complete an online appointment request.

Prior to your treatment

This procedure will be performed using local anesthesia. There are usually no restrictions after the procedure concerning driving or returning to work. Nitrous oxide is available during your treatment if you are anxious about your treatment. The doctor is available for consultation at all times should a concern arise after your treatment. Continue all medications for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid problems and any other conditions as recommended by your physician. If there is a question, please call our office prior to your appointment.

Should you request oral conscious sedation then you will have to bring a driver at the time of the procedure. There are more instructions for having this therapy in conjunction with your treatment. The details of which will be discussed at the time of your consultation. Oral conscious sedation patients will have a consultation exam prior to any medications begin dispensed.

If you have been advised by your physician or dentist to use antibiotic premedication because of mitral valve prolapse (MVP), heart murmur, hip, knee, cardiac or other prosthesis, or if you have rheumatic heart disease, please make sure you are on the appropriate antibiotic on the day of your appointment. If there is a question, please call our office prior to your appointment.

We gladly see children. If your child will be receiving treatment they must be accompanied by their parent or guardian at the time of the appointment. Trauma is one of the main reasons children may be seen. Please bring any and all medical information with you that may aid in our diagnosis and treatment.

Home Care Instructions

It will not be unusual for you to experience some discomfort for a few days up to a few weeks during the healing phase. Motrin 600mg – 800mg every 6 hours should alleviate your discomfort. If you cannot take Motrin, try Tylenol 1000mg every 6 hours. If you have extreme discomfort or swelling please contact us immediately.

And lastly, it is important to return to your general dentist within 4 weeks to restore the tooth that has been treated. This is a very important step; that if not done may cause your root canal to fail.
